Hi Wavemakers!

Due to the weather, we are going to cancel the parent meeting tonight. There IS still practice, and practice will only be canceled if it is storming at the time of practice (which right now is 30-40% chance).

I put below what I was going to talk about at the parent meeting, and we will email out all other important info that we would have gone over. We will train people "on the fly" at the practice meet next Tuesday. I will open volunteer sign-ups later tonight.  Something isn't working right at the moment, so as soon as I figure out what's going on I will send out instructions and what time it will open.

IMPORTANT INFO FROM COACH JULIE

I was going to speak very briefly at the parent meeting. Here are my notes:

I usually introduce myself, so to give you a little info about me. I have been a summer league coach for over 20 years (started in 1996) in Gwinnett and for Mark Trail. This is my 7th season with Mark Trail. I also coached the North Springs High School team from 2003-2014. I am currently a Spanish teacher at North Springs, and I coach the water polo team every fall (since 2009).

I ask 2 things from each parent. First, if you have a question during practice, please see one of the team parent reps (Keri, Kat, or Ashley). I have a lot of kids in the pool to focus on and cannot take time out of practice for parent questions. I'll be happy to speak with you before/after practice, just not during. Thanks!

The second thing is that you communicate with me when you will not be at a swim meet using the website (calendar, meet entry). With over 140 swimmers, it is a huge puzzle to get everyone in events and relays, and when 1 person doesn't show up who I have entered, it means other kids can't swim in relays and I hate that. If your child gets sick the day of, which I know happens, please text (770-289-6626) or email me as soon as you know your kid is sick so I can make other arrangements for the meet. Thanks!
