TEAM PICTURES
We have changed team pictures to 6/14. They are at 5PM at Princeton Square, and we will have practice after. Practice will start a little later than normal, but we will still run all 3 practices for those that are staying for practice. We will do a team picture and also individual pictures for those that would like individual pictures.
VOLUNTEERS
We are currently short volunteers for the meet on Tuesday. If you can help, please to to the website (mtps.swimtopia.com), click on “calendar” and then “job signup”. We really can’t run a meet without a lot of parents to help out. Thanks!
AFTER MEET GET TOGETHER
After meets this year, all are invited to Abuelos at 6631 Roswell Road (Publix shopping center at Abernathy and Roswell Roads). Each family pays for their own food and drinks.
ASA CHAMPIONSHIPS
We will attend the ASA Championship Meet again this year (where we won a trophy 2 of the past 3 years!). Here is how it works...to swim in the meet, it is $20 per swimmer (a great deal to get to swim at the Olympic pool at Georgia Tech!). Swimmers get to swim in 2 individual events and 2 relays (just like a normal meet). Our divisional championship (all the teams in our "region") is on Thursday, June 28, from 9AM-1PM. The top 10 relays and the top 40 individuals (10&under) and the top 30 (11&up) in each event make it to the Championship Final, which is on Saturday, June 30, 11-2 for 10&unders and 4-7:30 for 11&ups. I'm hoping we have a large group go like we did the last 3 years! We had 68 attend last year, and I'd love to have even more! I need your form (attached) and $20 by Wednesday, June 20 if you are going to attend the meet. For those that want to participate in the state qualifying meet, we will use the divisional championship on Thursday, June 28, as the state qualifying meet. The state meet is later in July, and the Sandy Springs team will have practice somewhere in the area leading up to the meet.
Some of you already paid for this with your registration and are listed below. I will just need your form by June 20.
Casey Diamonon
Sarah Eaves
Hunter Reese Giardino
James and Leo Roden
Sydney Smith
Christopher and Kaitlyn Wood
SWIMMER'S EAR
At this time last year, we had a few swimmers get swimmers' ear, and I want to try to avoid it this year. There are some things you can do to avoid getting swimmer's ear. First, encourage your kids to dry their ears (the outside) when done swimming and tip their heads to the side to drain any water still in their ears. There are drops that you can use to dry up any remaining water as well. There are natural mixtures you can use (just google it) and also drops you can buy at the store.
PRIVATE LESSONS
Many of the coaches do private lessons. I will send out info as I get it from them, but here is contact info:
