Wavemakers Weekly, 5/5
Hi all,
Happy Cinco de Mayo! And the Spanish teacher in me has to share that if you don't know what Cinco de Mayo celebrates, in short, it's a battle against the French that the Mexicans won...not Independence Day :)
It's here! I can't believe we start practice tomorrow! We are still taking new registrations, so if you have friends who want to join, they are welcome to. Here is important info as we get started. Please let me know if you have any questions!

NEXT WEEK, WEEK OF 5/13

7-10 year olds- 6-6:45PM

WHAT TO BRING TO PRACTICE
Your child should wear their swim suit (does not have to be the team suit, but should be a suit that is appropriate for swimming laps-not a bikini ;). They should bring a towel, running shoes (for the first week or 2), goggles, a swim cap if they like to wear one, and water (especially for the 11&ups).
SWIM SUIT ORDERING UPDATE
For those who could not attend the suit fitting last week, you can go to Atlanta Swim Academy (732 Johnson Ferry Rd) and tell them you're with Mark Trail. The deadline to order to guarantee delivery by the first meet is today, May 5.
PRACTICES/COACHING/WEATHER
I am happy to talk to all parents before or after practice, but during practice I really need my focus to be on the kids that are in the water. There is always a team parent there that can answer questions during practice, and if you don’t know who they are yet, you will meet them at the parent meeting or can ask others and we'll point them out! I’m sorry if this sounds harsh, it isn’t meant to, I just want everyone to be aware. Thanks! Also, with the crazy weather we've had this year so far, I want to go ahead and give you info about how we deal with bad weather. We only cancel practice if it is thundering and/or if it’s raining so hard that you can’t see the bottom of the pool. However, we will rarely, if ever, cancel practice in advance as it has to be doing it at the time of practice for us not to get in.
MEET RSVP
If you will miss a meet, you will declare this on the website. Click on the "calendar" tab on the website. For the meet you will miss, click on “meet entry” and it will ask you to declare if you’re swimmer will be there or not. YOU ONLY HAVE TO DO THIS IF THEY WILL NOT BE THERE. This process is just for those that know in advance. If your child gets sick the day of, please email/text/call me as soon as possible to let me know.
