Meet 2 results and RSVP next week
What a meet last night! We won 447-327! We had EVERY SINGLE PERSON show up that was supposed to, and only 3 kids get sick (but all communicated with me super early...thank you!). This is very rare with summer swimming, and I am VERY appreciative...let's keep it up! I loved having so many parents come over to ask me who kids were in the water as they were impressed with their strokes too!

INITIAL RSVP FOR TUESDAY
Here are the swimmers who have said they are NOT swimming (or are juniors) next Tuesday. If your child is not listed and they will NOT be swimming, please go to mtps.swimtopia.com, click on "calendar" and then "meet entry" to add their name. Thanks! If a junior swims across the pool this week, we can enter them, they just have to do it at practice before Tuesday.

MEET RESULTS
I saw so many things to highlight last night outside of the actual swimming. I'm sure there were MANY more that I missed, but here are a few...Our 7-10 year old boys were the best cheering section that I think I've ever seen. I really wish I had their energy, even for a minute! They stood by me so I could tell them the names of the Wavemakers in each race, and they cheered for all of them the whole time. Awesome teammates!
These same boys were very concerned seeing some of the other team's little kids swimming in the breaststroke event (the kids weren't really doing actual breaststroke, lost of freestyle kick, etc.). Our boys ran up to me to make sure I saw that "That is not real breaststroke, they need to get DQ'd". They also pointed out every time someone touched the bottom of the pool during a race. I was pleased with this, not because they were highlighting mistakes, but it means they're listening when we tell them about doing things correctly when they swim!
Our sportsmanship award for last night goes to Fisher Burt! He made sure to shake hands with the boy he was swimming against, and even when the boy wasn't paying attention, he didn't give up. This is a great demonstration of being a good sport! Great job Fisher!
Now to the "in the water" stuff. We, again, had so many best times last night! I have attached the full results (ignore the little x's and j's, they don't mean anything). Lots of kids swam things for the first time ever as well! As we get faster, it is harder to drop a lot of time at once, but we still had a lot of huge drops (see below). Also, it is still normal for some kids to add time, so if your child added time, please don't let them stress about it. As we change some things in their strokes, sometimes they get a little slower before they get faster, but then they do get much faster.
We had some team records broken, many first place finished, and a ton of huge drops. Below I have details for the biggest "loser", records, and first place finishes.
We had 5 team records broken!! Here they are:
Boys 13-14 medley relay: Leo, Wally, Ryan, Alex- 2:01.30

We have 3 biggest "losers" of this meet. Our first biggest "loser" of the meet was Kaitlyn Wood! Kaitlyn dropped 1:04 seconds in her 100 IM!
