NOTE ABOUT CLINICS

We will continue clinics this week after morning practice (11:05). If you sign up and then something changes and you won’t make it, please cross your name off so that others may sign up in your place. Thanks!

RSVP FOR MEET

The deadline to RSVP for the meet on 6/18 is this Tuesday (always 1 week prior). Please make sure to RSVP only if you will NOT be at the meet. Entering kids in a meet is a huge puzzle, and when one piece is taken out, it is very difficult to complete the puzzle…especially when the puzzle is already done. Thanks in advance.

VOLUNTEERS

We are currently short only a few volunteers for the meet on Tuesday. If you can help, please go to the website (mtps.swimtopia.com), click on “calendar” and then “job signup”. We really can’t run a meet without a lot of parents to help out. Thanks!

AFTER MEET GET TOGETHER

This week we are going to Battle and Brew (5920 Roswell Rd). We will get a discount on our checks (and everyone will get separate checks!) thanks to the owners, who happen to be on our team! 😊

NOTE FOR THE MEET

Riverside is a 25 meter pool, so I wanted everyone to be aware, as times will appear slower since the pool is slightly longer. The times in the heat sheets that the coaches have will be adjusted, so we will still know if the swimmers are going best times. See me after your child’s race if you would like to compare times!

SWIM-A-THON

Get READY...

The First Annual Wavemakers Swim-A-Thon is going to be held on June 20th during your child's regular swim practice. Have fun and help a good cause!!

Prizes and trophies will be given to all participants. Swimmers can either donate $10 or have people donate per lap. Special prizes will be awarded to swimmers who bring in $100 or more.

During this special practice there will also be baked goods for sale. All money goes to the Ronald McDonald House, a non-profit organization that gives families a place to live while their child is in the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House is run off of volunteers and donations, so the Wavemakers hope to make a difference. We hope you can join us on June 20!

Please RSVP to Shea Griffith at [email protected]

or fill out the google doc https://forms.gle/LE43W5uLnESynkmt9

TEAM PARTY

I wanted to make sure everyone has the date on their calendar. The team party is June 27 (night after the championship meet). More details to come, but put it on your calendars now!

11&OLDER BUDDY PROGRAM

If you or your buddy was not there last meet, we will introduce you this week. If you did not bring a little something for them last time, please do so this time…and if you did, you always can again! Just remember to think dollar store, and should be a max of $5...nothing fancy, more like $1, small treat!. Thanks!

ASA CHAMPIONSHIPS

We will attend the ASA Championship Meet again this year (where we won a trophy 2 of the past 3 years!). Here is how it works...to swim in the meet, it is $20 per swimmer (a great deal to get to swim at the Olympic pool at Georgia Tech!). Swimmers get to swim in 2 individual events and 2 relays (just like a normal meet). Our divisional championship (all the teams in our "region") is on Wednesday, June 26, from 3PM-6PM. The top 10 relays and the top 40 individuals (10&under) and the top 30 (11&up) in each event make it to the Championship Final, which is on Saturday, June 29, 11-2 for 10&unders and 4-7:30 for 11&ups. You DO NOT have to be able to attend finals to attend on Wednesday. I'm hoping we have a large group go like we did the last few years! We had over 60 attend last year, and I'd love to have even more! I need your form (attached) and $20 by Wednesday, June 19 if you are going to attend the meet. For those that want to participate in the state qualifying meet, we will use the divisional championship on Wednesday, June 26, as the state qualifying meet. The state meet is July 19 for 10&unders and July 20 for 11&ups, and the Sandy Springs team will have practice somewhere in the area leading up to the meet.

Some of you already paid for this with your registration and are listed below. I will just need your form by June 19:

Sarah Eaves

Nina and Lola Toole

Kate Zaparaniuk
