Meet 3 results and RSVP

We won again last night, 469-359! I wish I could be there this morning to celebrate with the team, but unfortunately I am sitting at jury duty downtown. I have new respect for all of you that have to get up for work the day after meets...it's much easier to roll out of bed and put my swim suit on! Thank you for not complaining about the rain and then the humidity last night as well. To give you a little history, we have only beat Riverside one time EVER...so winning by 90 points is amazing! We have been close the past few years, but have fallen short time and time again. Very exciting win! And what I care about more than anything is that our kids are learning to do the strokes the right way. There were a decent amount of DQs as you look through the results, but all but 1 were from the other team. Our only one was because we had 3 swimmers instead of 4 in a relay, which we couldn't help. And this official was calling it "by the book" all meet. Great job!

INITIAL RSVP FOR TUESDAY

Here are the swimmers who have said they are NOT swimming (or are juniors) next Tuesday. If your child is not listed and they will NOT be swimming, please go to mtps.swimtopia.com, click on "calendar" and then "meet entry" to add their name. Thanks! If a junior swims across the pool this week, we can enter them, they just have to do it at practice before Tuesday.

MEET RESULTS

I saw so many things again to highlight last night. Our kids really care about each other and the team, and it really shows at each meet. I love that many of our swimmers care more about how much time they dropped than about what place they came in...which is always my goal and what I care more about. I asked multiple kids to swim with older relays, or a different relay in their event literally while the event had already started (due to a hurt foot!), and every single one did it without complaining. We even had 2 6&under girls swim with 9-10 relays...and they did GREAT! The other coach actually called to ask me if that was a mistake or if I meant to do that, and I told him we had someone get sick and this was the best solution...and our girls handled it better than I could have hoped.

We, again, had a lot of best times last night! I have attached the full results (and the times converted to yards). Lots of kids swam things for the first time ever as well! As we get faster, it is harder to drop a lot of time at once, but we still had a lot of huge drops (see below).

We had team records broken, many first place finished, and a ton of huge drops. Below I have details for the biggest "loser", records, and first place finishes.

We had 2 team records broken, and the first is very exciting for me. Kate Zaparaniuk broke the 13-14 50 free record with a (converted) time of 27.93, and this breaks the ONLY team record that was still standing from before I took over the team in 2012! Great job Kate! And not to be seen as a side note, Evan Bell also broke his own 15-18 100 free record with a (converted) time of 53.13! Great job Evan!

We have 3 biggest "losers" of this meet. Our first biggest "loser" of the meet was George Mansour! George dropped 54 seconds in his 25 free! Our other 2 biggest "losers" were Sarah Hyatt Chappell who dropped 23 seconds in her 100 IM, and Lucy Holder who dropped 22 seconds in her 50 free!!! Great job to George, Sarah Hyatt, and Lucy!!!
