TEAM PICTURES

We ask that every swimmer wear their team suit (if they have one) and their team t-shirt for pictures.  You can fill out an order form for individual and/or the team picture.  We will have practice after, but we ask that if you come in the morning to not swim again even though you will be there.  The address for Princeton Square is 7476 Princeton Trace NE, and please remember to park only on the same side of the road that the pool is on.

PLEA FROM THE COACHES

With this being our last full week, we are pleading with you to come to morning practice if at all possible. We’ve seen huge improvements from so many kids, and the ones that come in the morning seem to be improving faster with all of the strokes (time and technique). We have many babysitters/nannies bring kids in the morning, so please know that it is totally fine to send your kids with a babysitter. We know that many of you have camps and cannot attend in the morning, but we are begging those of you that can, to please come in the morning. Thanks in advance!

RSVP FOR MEET

The deadline to RSVP for the last dual meet is this Tuesday, please note that the meet is actually on a Monday (6/24). Please make sure to RSVP only if you will NOT be at the meet. Thanks in advance.

SWIM-A-THON

Get READY...

The First Annual Wavemakers Swim-A-Thon is going to be held on June 20th during your child's regular swim practice. Have fun and help a good cause!!

Prizes and trophies will be given to all participants. Swimmers can either donate $10 or have people donate per lap. Special prizes will be awarded to swimmers who bring in $100 or more.

During this special practice there will also be baked goods for sale. All money goes to the Ronald McDonald House, a non-profit organization that gives families a place to live while their child is in the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House is run off of volunteers and donations, so the Wavemakers hope to make a difference. We hope you can join us on June 20!

Please RSVP to Shea Griffith at [email protected]

or fill out the google doc https://forms.gle/LE43W5uLnESynkmt9

TEAM PARTY

I wanted to make sure everyone has the date on their calendar. The team party is June 27 (night after the championship meet). More details to come, but put it on your calendars now!

ASA CHAMPIONSHIPS

We will attend the ASA Championship Meet again this year (where we won a trophy 2 of the past 3 years!). Here is how it works...to swim in the meet, it is $23 (cash, check, on on the shop page of website) per swimmer (a great deal to get to swim at the Olympic pool at Georgia Tech!). Swimmers get to swim in 2 individual events and 2 relays (just like a normal meet). Our divisional championship (all the teams in our "region") is on Wednesday, June 26, from 3PM-6PM. The top 10 relays and the top 40 individuals (10&under) and the top 30 (11&up) in each event make it to the Championship Final, which is on Saturday, June 29, 11-2 for 10&unders and 4-7:30 for 11&ups. You DO NOT have to be able to attend finals to attend on Wednesday. I'm hoping we have a large group go like we did the last few years! We had over 60 attend last year, and I'd love to have even more! I need your form (attached) and $23 by Wednesday, June 19 if you are going to attend the meet. For those that want to participate in the state qualifying meet, we will use the divisional championship on Wednesday, June 26, as the state qualifying meet. The state meet is July 19 for 10&unders and July 20 for 11&ups, and the Sandy Springs team will have practice somewhere in the area leading up to the meet.

Here are numbers by age group...I would love to have relays for all:

7-8 girls-2

7-8 boys-1

9-10 girls-2

Some of you have signed up already…here is the list and what I need from you. Also, the fee did go up $3. I know this is a pain in the behind, and I’m so sorry for the inconvenience, but if you could pay $3…that would be great. I will cover any one who can’t since it was my fault that I missed this increase in the first place!

Only prepaid ($12) parking will be allowed in the parking lots adjacent to the Campus Recreation Center (Lot W10) and the Student Center Lot (Lot W2) across the street. If you do not get reserved parking you will have pay more ($15) to park at the State Street (Lot W23) lot a little further away from the facility. To purchase prepaid parking for $12 per day go to https://gatech.parkmobile.io/events . Please keep in mind that with construction in the area we strongly advise teams to carpool as best they can.
