  • Continue swimming
  • ASA Championship Meet results-Saturday
  • Medals/ribbons from Saturday
  • State Qualifiers

IF YOU MISSED THE PARTY

If you missed the party, you can pick up your trophy, any ribbons from the season, and your pictures if you ordered them that you don't already have at Kat Griffith's house: 120 Old Campus Ct. They are on the front porch. We only had 1 big award that wasn't in attendance to get it, and that was Fisher Burt. Burt family, when you pick up your things, Fisher also gets the MVP award that's there!

SEASON TIMES

I have attached a report with all times from this season by swimmer if you would like to keep your child's in a scrapbook, etc.

CONTINUING TO SWIM

Many of you have asked about options to continue swimming, and there are a few clubs in the area. There are 2 that have a little less intense program for people just starting, websites below. These clubs also have more advanced groups that require more commitment, but there are lower groups that only practice a couple times a week. One is Lifetime, and especially if you are already members, that is a great option (https://www.teamunify.com/Home.jsp?team=galtfa). The team at Chastain (https://www.teamunify.com/TabGeneric.jsp?_tabid_=76051&team=recascpacga) is great for all levels as well and one of their head coaches is the Brookwood Hills summer league coach. In addition to these, there is also Dynamo (dynamoswimclub.com) and Swim Atlanta (swimatlanta.com). There are a couple of teams at Mountain View Aquatic Center as well including Chattahoochee Gold (https://www.teamunify.com/Home.jsp?_tabid_=0&team=gacsci) All are good options with good coaches, just depends on your schedule and what you're looking for.

CHAMPIONSHIP MEET RESULTS-FINALS

What a meet today! The top 10 relays from all 6 divisional sessions and the top 40 (10&u) and 30 (11&up) individuals make it back in each event. It is very difficult to get back to finals with the number of fast swimmers at this meet. We ended up finishing 19th out of 116 teams! This is our best ever finish at this meet, with last year's 39th place finish our previous best. We had 20 swimmers there today, which is amazing! We had our first 10&u record broken this season! We also had 11 other records set! Special shout out to the 6&u boys and their parents for all showing up this morning after just finding out last night at 9:45 that they could swim! Here is how everyone did, and I attached the full results. And there are pictures on the Wavemakers Facebook group...if you aren't a member, join!

10&under session:

6&u boys free relay of Eli, Kellen, Matthew, and Jason finished 9th!

Nicolas Bondell finished 20th in 50 free and set a new 7-8 boys team record!

Jack Cortez finished 23rd in 25 back and 37th in IM with times just off his personal bests!

Libby Homans finished 9th in 25 free and 13th in 25 back with a personal best time, only .3 off the team record!

Tommy Homans finished 20th in IM with our biggest "loser" time of the day dropping 9 seconds, and he finished 14th in 25 fly with a time less than a half second off our team record!

Hailey Linehan finished 36th in 25 breast, right at her best time!

These 9 swimmers earned enough points to have us in 52nd place after the morning session!

11&up session:

13-14 girls relays of Sydney, Lauren, Natalie, and Kate finished 5th in both medley and free and set new team records in both as well! Sydney also broke the 50 free record with her lead off leg!

13-14 boys relays of Leo, Wally, Ryan, and Alex finished 7th in both medley and free and set a new free relay record while tying their own medley relay record!

Evan Bell finished 18th in 100 free and 20th in 50 back, setting new team records in both!

Lauren Bell finished 20th in 50 free with a personal best time!

Wally Christman finished 22nd in 100 free and 10th in 50 breast, right at his best times!

Ryan Fogel finished 21st in 100 free and 22nd in 50 fly, right at his best times!

Hannah Lisa Jones finished 26th in 50 back, with her second best time all year!

Leo Roden finished 2nd in 100 free and 3rd in 50 fly, setting new team records in both!

Sydney Smith finished 5th in 50 back and 7th in IM setting new team records in both!

Natalie Tully finished 19th in IM and 10th in 50 breast, both times right at her best!

Christopher Wood finished 26th in 50 back just off his best time from Wednesday

Kate Zaparaniuk finished 10th in 50 free and 11th in 100 free, both times were best times for summer league! Her 100 free time is a new team record!

These 11 swimmers took the momentum that the little ones started, and they ran with it to get us in the top 20!

MEDALS/RIBBONS FROM SATURDAY

I have the medals and ribbons from today's final. I will be at Spalding Woods (900 Spalding Drive NE) pool every Monday and Wednesday 9-10:30AM in July (except for this Wednesday) for water polo practice. You can come by any of those dates and pick up your medals/ribbons. I will have them in the car, but I will bring them in to practice if you let me know in advance that you're coming that day. We can also arrange another time to meet for those that can't come in the morning.

STATE QUALIFIERS

I haven't seen a list yet, but the people in charge should reach out soon. I will keep you updated as I hear anything.

Thanks! And Go Wavemakers!
