MEET THIS WEEK

How will the meet work?

  • ALL swimmers will arrive by 5PM for warmups and the meet will start as soon as we are done with warmups (5:30 estimate). We will be running a normal order of events (free relay at the end for all except 6&u). 6&unders should be done around 6:30, all others will most likely be done between 8-8:30.
  • We will allow spectators, but please remember to social distance and if you are not vaccinated, please keep your mask on. This is extremely important as we are having our whole team there together.
  • We will have a Hawaiian theme this week! Come in your Hawaiian outfits!
  • We are pre-selling concessions. If you would like to purchase dinner or snacks, please go to this link: https://bit.ly/2SVrmwp You can order as many dinners and snacks as desired, payment info in the instructions when you click on the link…items will be ready when you arrive.
  • We need volunteers for our meets, as always, and every family is expected to volunteer in 2 meets unless you paid the volunteer opt out fee when you registered. We really need volunteers! Go to the website, mtps.swimtopia.com, click on “calendar” and you will see the job sign up button for this meet.

Here is who I have listed as not attending Tuesday’s meet with any notes applicable:

Zachary Eisenstat (Tuesday possible, if not, Wednesday)

Callie and Carson Hart

Libby and Tommy Homans

Lily and Samson Kroo

Henry Lott (will be timed Wednesday morning)

Hannah Rosenbaum

Abby Simon

TEAM PARTY

We will have a team party, most likely the week of June 28. Details to come soon.

ASA CHAMPIONSHIPS

We will attend the ASA Championship Meet again this year at Georgia Tech, though it will look a little different. Here is how it works...to swim in the meet, it is $40 per swimmer (they had to up the price this year). Swimmers get to swim in 2 individual events and 2 relays (just like a normal meet). Our divisional championship (all the teams in our "region") will be on either Wednesday, June 23, or Thursday, June 24. We will either swim from 9AM-12:30 or from 3:30PM-7PM. There is no final sessions this year, only the one session and they will combine all sessions virtually to see the ultimate winners of each event. At this point, they are not allowing spectators, but we will be allowed a few parents to help on deck and also to volunteer.

I'm hoping we have a good group go like we did the last few years! We had over 60 attend in 2018 and about 50 in 2019! I need your form (attached) and $40 by Friday, June 12 if you are going to attend the meet. You can pay with cash or go to the website and click on “shop”. For those that want to participate in the state qualifying meet, we will use this meet as the state qualifying meet. The state meet is July 16 for 10&unders and July 17 for 11&ups, and the Sandy Springs team will have practice somewhere in the area leading up to the meet.

Here is who has signed up already and what I need from you (if anything) to finish the registration. Some of you paid for this with your registration, though we didn’t know of the fee change when you paid. Please go to the website, click on shop, and purchase the ASA meet additional fee for $17, or bring it in cash, if this is listed next to your name.
