It’s crazy that this is really our last full week. For those new to swim team, the season is a week shorter this year due to when July 4 falls, just as an fyi. Please see important notes below, especially the last 2 meets. Our meet this week is NEON THEME!

Week of June 14

Monday- morning practice at Mark Trail, evening practice at Princeton Square

Tuesday- morning practice at Mark Trail, meet in PM at Mark Trail (arrive by 5PM)

Wednesday- morning practice at Mark Trail, evening practice at Princeton Square

Thursday- morning practice at Mark Trail and evening practice at Princeton Square

Friday-Fun Friday practice at Mark Trail (9-9:55 for 10 and younger, 10:05-11 for 11&up)

Week of June 21

Monday- morning practice at Mark Trail, meet in PM at Redfield (details below)

Tuesday- morning practice at Mark Trail for those attending Ga Tech meet

Wednesday- morning practice at Mark Trail OR meet at Tech

Thursday- possible meet at Tech

MEET THIS WEEK

How will the meet work? Just like last week!

• ALL swimmers will arrive by 5PM for warmups and the meet will start as soon as we are done with warmups (5:30 estimate). We will be running a normal order of events (free relay at the end for all except 6&u). 6&unders should be done around 6:30, all others will most likely be done between 7:30-8.

• We will have a neon theme this week! Come in your neon!!

• We are NOT doing concessions this week.

• We need volunteers for our meets! Go to the website, mtps.swimtopia.com, click on “calendar” and you will see the job sign up button for this meet.

LAST DUAL MEET

Our last meet is on a MONDAY, June 21. This is what happens every season due to the meet at Georgia Tech starting on Wednesday each year. We are going to have this meet in person and get to actually swim against the other team!! This meet will be at Redfield (only 10 minutes from Mark Trail). Since this meet will be in person, there will be no option to time swimmers at practice. It will be more important than ever to RSVP appropriately. If you will not be there on Monday, June 21, please RSVP on the site that you will not attend. The theme will be Olympics and both teams are participating!

TEAM PARTY

We will have a team party on June 29, time TBD but will be 5:30/6 to 7:30/8ish. We’ll have pizza provided for swimmers and families will be able to pay for pizza in advance (link sent out next week). This is when we’ll give out trophies and the ribbons from the last meet.

ASA CHAMPIONSHIPS

For those that signed up, I will get the exact date and time at noon on Monday and will send out immediately to everyone. At that point, I will have and send out all the details.

11&OLDER BUDDY PROGRAM

If you have a buddy, please plan to help them write on their arms and get them to warm-ups at the last 2 meets!

WATER POLO

I coach the North Springs co-ed water polo team that many of our swimmers play on (Evan, Wally, Kate, Matty, Robert), and anyone who is a rising 8^th grader or older can join…does not matter what school you attend. If you are interested in trying it out, let me know!
