We are in charge of wiping down the bathrooms for the 1st 3 weeks of practice. After these weeks, the pool has a cleaning service. It includes picking up any trash and swiffering the floors. It can be done any time during the last practice (6:15-7). Please consider signing up for a night! Thanks in advance!

SCHEDULE NEXT 2 WEEKS
THIS WEEK, WEEK OF 5/6
We have practice Monday-Thursday at the Mark Trail pool (210 Seville Chase). We will test the water temp each day, and if it is too cold, we will do dry land exercises. Have your child bring/wear tennis shoes just in case. We will have a parent meeting at 6PM on Thursday, 5/9, for all new to our team parents.
- Ages 6&under: Mon - Thurs from 5:00 pm – 5:25 pm
- Ages 7 to 10: Mon - Thurs from 5:30 pm – 6:10 pm
- Ages 11 & older: Mon – Thurs from 6:15 pm – 7:00 pm
NEXT WEEK, WEEK OF 5/13
Practice Monday-Thursday at Mark Trail.
- Ages 6&under: Mon - Thurs from 5:00 pm – 5:25 pm
- Ages 7 to 10: Mon - Thurs from 5:30 pm – 6:10 pm
- Ages 11 & older: Mon – Thurs from 6:15 pm – 7:00 pm
WHAT TO BRING TO PRACTICE
Swimmers should wear their suit to practice if possible as the bathrooms do not allow for many to be changing at the same time. Also bring goggles (if desired) and a towel. 11&up should bring a water bottle as well. We will watch the water and air temps and only get in the pool if it is safe/warm enough. For the first week, please have your child either wear or bring tennis shoes as well so we can do dry land exercises if necessary.
JUNIORS TEAM
We have the juniors team for kids 6 or younger who are not ready to swim the length of the pool by themselves yet. These swimmers come at the same time as the regular 6&unders for practice. The only difference with this group is that they will not participate in meets until they're ready.
TIME TRIALS
We will time the swimmers at their regular practice time on Tuesday, May 21. You do not need to RSVP for this on the site, but I wanted to let everyone know we are doing it so you could make sure you are there that night if at all possible. We would love parents to sign up to time by going to mtps.swimtopia.com, clicking on calendar, and job sign up for time trials. We will open sign up for other meets after the parent meeting.
MEETS
Our meets are scheduled, and we have 3 home meets and 2 away. Our schedule can be seen here. The volunteer slots for meets will open after our parent meeting on May 9. This includes the championship meet date, June 26 at 4PM.
SWIM SUITS
If you missed our fitting and need a suit, you have a couple options. If you already know your size, Click here to order suit. Click on “team login”. Username is MTPS and password is 1234. If not, the company said if you order by the end of this coming week, they can include your suit in the team shipment, so you can try it on at practice. Please arrive early for your practice slot if this applies to you so you have time to try them on.
*Purchasing a team suit isn't required, and if you have yours from last year and it fits, wearing that is totally fine!
PRACTICES/COACHING/WEATHER
I am happy to talk to all parents before or after practice, but during practice I really need my focus to be on the kids that are in the water. I’m sorry if this sounds harsh, it isn’t meant to, I just want everyone to be aware. There are a few minutes in between each practice for this reason. Thanks! Also, with the crazy weather that comes in May in Georgia, I want to go ahead and give you info about how we deal with bad weather. We only cancel practice if it is thundering and/or if it’s raining so hard that you can’t see the bottom of the pool. However, we will rarely, if ever, cancel practice in advance as it has to be doing it at the time of practice for us not to get in. If we do have to cancel, I will send an email to all as soon as we make that decision.
MEET RSVP
If you will miss a meet, you will declare this on the website. Click on the "calendar" tab on the website. For the meet you will miss, click on “meet entry” and it will ask you to declare if you’re swimmer will be there or not. YOU ONLY HAVE TO DO THIS IF THEY WILL NOT BE THERE. This process is just for those that know in advance. If your child gets sick the day of, please email/text/call me as soon as possible to let me know.
Have a great week!
