Championship results and season times

We had a fantastic meet last night!  I'm exhausted today, not sure about you all, but looking at all the fast times from yesterday helps, haha.  I can't wait to celebrate all of our successes at the party tonight, 6-8.  I'm sorry this is long, but so many great things happened that I want everyone to know about it!

I will send an email with combined results from Tech once they release that after all sessions have finished. For those trying to qualify for state, I believe the coach and parent running the team will reach out once they know who qualifies (I passed on email addresses for all of you).

SEASON TIMES

I included a season times spreadsheet by swimmer for you to have as well, and I did it 1 athlete per page if you want to print your child's times!

RECORDS BROKEN

We had 4 records broken yesterday!  To see all records, they are on our site, mtps.swimtopia.com, under the "about" tab.

Sam Smeltzer broke the 7-8 boys' 25 free (17.50) and 100 IM (1:46.53) records!

Sadie Mann broke her own 11-12 girls' 50 free record with a time of 27.24!

Joshua Rubin broke the boys' 13-14 50 breast record with a time of 31.65!

These are in addition to the following 4 that were broken previously this season:

Sam Smeltzer - 7-8 boys' 50 free (37.25) and 25 back (21.01)

Sadie Mann - 11-12 girls' 50 breast (33.06)

James Holder - 11-12 boys' 50 breast (39.41)

MEET RESULTS

It was a crazy day, but what an incredible meet! Thank you to everyone who volunteered: Kacy Homans, the Svedas, Sean Smeltzer, Nora Robb, Anna Holder, Sue Warshal, and special shout outs to Christina Toole for working the entire meet to help me make sure not 1 swimmer missed a race and ran all over bringing kids upstairs! Thanks to our 11&ups for stepping in to help with relays as well.  All swimmers were super helpful to find anyone we were missing, and kids as young as 8 helped get everyone to the bullpen on time!  Full results are attached!

We came in 6th place overall out of 17. Every team that beat us had more swimmers at the meet (we had 40, everyone ahead of us had over 65). We also beat 3 teams that had more/equal swimmers.  We beat the 7th place team by 1 point...and they had 68 swimmers at the meet!

We had 47 improved times, which was almost 50% of our swims! Lots of 2-3 second drops, which is hard to do when you're already fast! We did have 3 big drops...highlighted by Dylan Johnson, our biggest loser who dropped 39 seconds in 50 free!  Here are our 2 runners up:

Eleanor Murphy dropped 5 seconds in 25 back!

Henry Murphy dropped 6 seconds in 50 free!

There were 1,118 swimmers entered in the meet...here are our finishes!

*if you see an x by your name on the full results, that means exhibition. The people trying to qualify for the state team swim can swim 1 extra event for state purposes, but it doesn't count for points at the meet.
