PHOTOGRAPHER WANTED

We are looking for someone to take our team pictures this season.  The company we used last year is no longer doing sports pics.  I've reached out to a few other teams and they are either also still looking or use someone in the neighborhood that has a nice camera.  We are good with that if anyone knows someone?  Any recs welcome.  Thanks!

SCHEDULE NEXT 2 WEEKS

THIS WEEK, WEEK OF 5/19

Practice Monday-Wednesday at Mark Trail. Tuesday, 5/20 will be our practice meet, everyone is asked to be there at 5. We will NOT have practice on Thursday, 5/22, due to the last day of public school. We WILL have Friday morning practice on 5/23 at the times below.

For Tuesday, 5/20: all swimmers arrive at 5 for the practice meet.  We will have all kids attempt to swim (except kids that have been in lane 1 only for 6&under practice).  Every year we have a few that may get a little scared and not actually jump in and swim, that is totally fine if it happens!

For Friday, 5/23:

  • Ages 7 - 10: Mon - Fri from 8:30 am – 9:25 am
  • Ages 6 & under: Mon - Fri from 9:30 - 10:00 am
  • Ages 11 & older: Mon - Fri from 10:05 - 11:00 am

Sign up to help with the bathrooms this week here!

DAY AFTER MEET FUN PRACTICE

On Wednesday mornings after a meet we have “fun” practice. We give out ribbons and donuts, and the kids get free play time. All kids 10 and younger are from 9-10AM and 11&up are 10-11AM, at Mark Trail.

MEET RSVP - FIRST MEET

The deadline to RSVP for the first real meet (on 5/27) is this Tuesday. Please RSVP on the website by clicking on "calendar" and then "meet entry". This is only for those who will NOT be at the meet. Thanks!

Here is the list of all swimmers (juniors NOT included) that will NOT be swimming at our first meet, 5/27. If your child gets sick, let me know as soon as you know! I will update with juniors after the practice meet this week.

MORNING VS EVENING PRACTICES

A quick note about practices, morning practices are the ones to come to if at all possible. We have more coaches there, more lanes available, starting blocks/kick boards/flags. If you cannot attend morning practices, please come in the evening, but if you can, please come in the morning. We only get 2 lanes in the evening, so not a lot of space to work. And please be on time! Thanks!

VOLUNTEER SIGN-UPS

We need MANY volunteers for our first meet.

The sign-ups are now open for volunteering at meets. Please go to the website, mtps.swimtopia.com, click on "calendar", and then "job entry" to sign up for jobs. Please sign up for something that you feel comfortable with. Thanks!

WHAT TO BRING TO A MEET

I recommend bringing multiple towels to a meet, warm clothes (as it can get cool at night), a water bottle, and everything you need to swim. We will have concessions at every meet as well (cash or Venmo).

PREVIOUSLY SENT:

BIG KID/LITTLE KID BUDDIES

We are continuing our buddy program where all 6&u kids get a big kid buddy. We are looking for any swimmers 10 and older that would be interested in having a buddy this season. Responsibilities include cheering on their buddy, helping them at meets so they know where to go, and occasionally bringing a small treat (candy usually). Please let me know if your swimmer is interested.

Thanks, and have a great weekend!
