I can't believe the season is officially over as of about 7:30 last night!  The kids swimming in finals were amazing...a great end to the season.  To give a little context, making finals is really a HUGE accomplishment, and to show the quality of swimmers in finals, there was a 15 year old who swam at Olympic trials last weekend and in the meet yesterday!  That's how good some of these swimmers are.  Our kids swam so well, and the details results are below.  Now I'm going to take a 3 day nap, ha ha!

RIBBONS/MEDALS FROM YESTERDAY
I will be at Mark Trail on Tuesday from about 11 to 11:15 (after water polo practice).  If you are able to come pick up ribbons/medals from finals, please do.  I will be at Spalding Woods pool every Tuesday and Thursday from 9-10:30 for water polo practice for the month of July (minus 7/14 and 7/19), so you can pick them up there also.  Please let me know if you are coming to Spalding Woods so I can bring them in that day.  If none of that works, let me know and I can come one evening to meet people as well.

RESULTS FROM FINALS
We had 12 swimmers swim in finals, and 9 of them swam individual races.  We had 3 relays make it back, which is amazing since only the top 10 relays make it!  I have attached the full results, check out our kids, but look at some of the fastest times...truly incredible!  The 10&unders swam first and 9 swimmers competed.  At the end of that session we were in 20th place out of 111 in the meet (only 90 scored points in that session).  We only had 3 swimmers in the 11&up group, and they swam their hearts out to keep us in the top 50.  We finished in 47th place out of 111 (112 if you count Mountaire who didn't send any swimmers to the meet).  We beat all of the other old Sandy Springs league teams by a lot too!  Here are the results:

Our biggest "loser" of the meet was Hunter Reese Giardino who dropped 5 seconds in her 100IM (since prelims on Wednesday)!!!  I knew we would have best times at the meet, but I honestly didn't think we would have anyone drop 5 seconds at this point in the season.  Great job Hunter Reese!

Top 20 score points at this meet (top 40 get ribbons).  We had 6 top 10 finishes and an additional 6 top 20!!!  Here are all of the results...almost every kid moved up from their seed in at least 1 thing...great job!

9th: 7-8 girls' medley relay- Hunter Reese, Sophie, Abby, Presley
10th: 7-8 girls' free relay- Hunter Reese, Sophie, Presley, Abby
9-10 girls' medley relay- they swam so well, had great splits, but they got DQ'd :( 

Ryan Fogel- 31st in 50 free and 34th in 50 fly
Hunter Reese Giardino- 13th in 25 back and 14th in 100 IM
Sean Hanse- 42nd in 50 free
Sophie Mann- 47th in 50 free and 20th in 25 breast
James Roden- 22nd in 50 free and 29th in 100 free (James broke 1 minute in his 100 free for the first time!)
Leo Roden- 13th in 100 free and 18th in 100 IM
Abby Simon- 7th in 50 free and 10th in 25 breast
Sydney Smith- 16th in 25 back
Natalie Tully- 6th in 100 IM and 6th in 25 fly
