Hey all,
We had an amazing time at the ASA Divisional Championship Meet today at Georgia Tech with all 51 Wavemaker swimmers who entered. We got a 3rd place trophy for our season record of 3-2!  And we ended up with 2nd place in the silver division and 5th place overall (out of 25)!!!!  See the group picture attached!  The trophies will be at the party tomorrow, as well as ribbons from the meet.  Results are below and attached, as well as a note about finals for those who swam.

 

WILL I MAKE FINALS?
Nothing is for sure until after Friday's sessions (1 session is going right now, 2 tomorrow, and 2 on Friday).  The top 10 relays overall, top 50 10&unders per event, and top 40 11&ups per event make finals.  Realistically I think our girls 7-8 relays and 9-10 medley relay could make finals (please see note below if you are in those age groups).  For individual events, I think 10 and unders need to be top 5-10 in our session to make it, and for 11&ups probably top 5.  I don't know how the July 4th holiday will affect scratches, so if you are in the top 10 in any event and want to come to practice tomorrow just in case, please do so.  Remember practice is 9-10 for everyone.

For the relays, not everyone can come back for finals if we make it.  I know Abby, Hunter Reese, Sydney, and Natalie can come back, but that is 2 per age group.  If you swam in the meet in either of those age groups and could come to finals (even if you originally said no), please email me ASAP.

 

MEET RESULTS

Words cannot express how proud I am of everyone who swam in this meet.  It was the first time at a big meet for a lot of our swimmers and they handled it soooooo well.  Every swam in at least one race and there were very few tears if any!  There were 17 teams in the silver division, so to walk away with 2nd was really exciting!  Below you will see those that placed in the top 24 (scoring points for the team), our biggest "losers", and also a list of swimmers who had best times.  I think every swimmer either scored points, had a best time, or got great experience swimming at a big meet and will be even better in the future!
