SCHEDULE

We have normal practice all week.  Don't forget that Wednesday morning starts at 9 for all kids 10&under.  Our meet is on Tuesday at Mark Trail.  Everyone is invited to Mellow Mushroom after the meet, and they have asked us for a headcount, so please use this link to let us know if you're coming: http://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080544ada72ba46.  The weather looks iffy most evenings this week, and Mill Glen can only make up the meet on Thursday if it gets thundered out.  Knowing this, we are going to do our best to get the meet in on Tuesday...we will wait out a storm if it looks like it will blow through.

ASA CHAMPIONSHIP MEET

We will attend the ASA Championship Meet again this year (where we won 2nd place last year!).  Here is how it works...to swim in the meet, it is $20 per swimmer (a great deal to get to swim at the Olympic pool at Georgia Tech!).  Swimmers get to swim in 2 individual events and 2 relays (just like a normal meet).  Our divisional championship (all the teams in our "region") is on Wednesday, June 29, from 9AM-12:30PM.  The top 10 relays and the top 50 individuals (10&under) and the top 40 (11&up) in each event make it to the Championship Final, which is on Saturday, July 2, 12-3 for 10&unders and 4:30-7 for 11&ups.  I'm hoping we have a large group go like we did last year!  I need your form (attached) and $20 by Tuesday, June 21 if you are going to attend the meet.  For those that used to participate in the state qualifying meet, we will use the divisional championship on Wednesday, June 29, as the state qualifying meet.

RSVP FUNCTION

Apparently certain browsers are not showing the RSVP function on the website.  If you are trying to RSVP and it isn't showing up, either try a different browser or email me.

SWIMMER'S EAR

We have had a few swimmers get swimmers' ear recently.  There are some things you can do to avoid getting swimmer's ear.  First, encourage your kids to dry their ears (the outside) when done swimming and tip their heads to the side to drain any water still in their ears.  There are drops that you can use to dry up any remaining water as well.  There are natural mixtures you can use (just google it) and also drops you can buy at the store.

KIDS FOR KIDS MEET RESULTS

We had 7 swimmers attend this meet yesterday that raises money for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.  All swimmers did awesome!  We came in 12th out of 20 teams with only 7 swimmers!  Here are the results, and the full PDF of all results is also attached:

Our best finish: Natalie Tully won both the 100 IM and the 25 breast!

Evan Bell- 3rd in 100 free and 5th in 50 back
Lauren Bell- 11th in 50 free and 8th in 50 back
Lila Parker- 3rd in 25 free and 6th in 25 breast
Christopher Wood- 2nd in 25 back and 3rd in 25 breast
Kaitlyn Wood- 9th in 50 free and 11th in 25 breast

Relays: Kaitlyn swam with another team for their relays as they needed 1 more person and we had 1 extra.  She came in 6th in the medley and 5th in the free!

Lauren, Kate Z., Lila, and Natalie competed in the 11-12 relays and came in 4th in the medley and 6th in the free!

See you all tomorrow!

Coach Julie
