SWIMMING DURING THE YEAR

I am so excited that so many of you are interested in continuing to swim all year or over the winter.  There are a few options that you have, and I’ve listed them below.  There are a few other swim clubs (Dynamo, Chattahoochee Gold, Marietta Stingrays), but they are all located farther away from the 2 listed below.  If you decide to do this and your child competes in any meets, please let me know as I would love to come watch!  Also, if you would like to talk to a family who has already swam for one of these clubs, please email me, and I’ll put you in touch with one. 

 

Atlanta Swim Academy

How to start: You can set up your 10 minute assessment with a coach at the website above

Practices: you can choose from twice a week up to 5 times a week, and the times are on the site listed

Practices:  Practice times vary and are offered from 3 times up to 7 times a week depending on the group (schedule is on the site)

 

TIMES FROM THE SEASON

For the past few years we have decorated paper plates and put each child’s season best times on them.  With the large team we now have, we were not able to do that, but each swimmer’s best times from the season are attached if you would like to print them for your child and either put them on a plate that your child can decorate or keep them in a scrapbook, etc. 

 

RIBBONS/MEDALS

The ribbon boxes are at the pool, along with the medals that each swimmer received for being on the team, and all are on the high shelf in the lifeguard room.  They will be there for the next week.  Some swimmers were missing ribbons from the last meet.  If this applies to you and you have not emailed me with what you are missing, please do so asap.  I will have these ribbons in the ribbon boxes by Wednesday at lunch time.

 

HIGH SCHOOL WATER POLO

As many of you have heard, I coach the water polo team at North Springs, and Coach Sam and Coach Kevin both play on the team.  We may be adding a few more Wavemakers from the team this year after they try it out as well.  Many of you have expressed interest in coming to see a game, so I wanted to give you our schedule.  There is no admission charge to any games until the state tournament this year, so you can just show up!  The schedule is attached.
